General Short Course Information

Academic Regulations

Academic Regulations apply to all credit bearing courses that run as short courses. The Academic Regulations may be found in the General Prospectus; they form part of the “Institutional Regulatory Code”.

Accommodation

Details of some hotels and guesthouses, which are situated closest to the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, are given hereby for out-of-town delegates.

Certificate

On successful completion of a short course, an official NMMU short course certificate (implying the successful completion of a theoretical and/or practical examination) is awarded to delegates. Attendance certificates will be awarded upon request.

A copy of the participant’s identification or passport is required for certificate purposes.

Course Fee and Payment

The course fee includes course material and light refreshments. Kindly bring writing paper and a pen.

Discount:

  • A 5% discount is offered when 3 to 5 persons from one company attend;
  • A 7.5% discount is offered when 6 to 9 persons from one company attend;
  • A 10% discount is offered when 10 or more persons from one company attend.

A company Purchase Order number and VAT Registration Number are required with registration.

Short course fees need to be paid in full at least two weeks before the commencement of the course.

When making payment, please include the following information:

  • 3142-4120,
  • delegate’s name, and
  • course name.

Please send proof of payment, including your name and the course name, to NMMU for the attention of Natasha Luiters.

Cancellations / Refunds

Course fees are not refundable unless cancellation has been made at least 14 days prior to course commencement; a 30% administration fee is levied for cancellations. Unfortunately no reimbursements are possible for late cancellations but a substitute delegate is welcome.
 

NB: NMMU reserves the right to cancel or postpone short courses should we not have the required minimum number of enrolments for a specific course. If the course is fully booked or cancelled by the NMMU, a full refund of fees will be made.

Course Logistics

Course logistics will be sent by e-mail to course participants at least one week before commencement of the course.

In-house Training

Should a company wish to register a group of learners for In-house training, kindly contact Natasha Luiters to discuss this option.
