InnoVenton and The Downstream Chemicals Technology Station

Introduction

Due to the rapid changes occurring in the chemical and allied products manufacturing sectors around the world, both on technological and legislative/regulation fronts, urgent and continuous training of personnel in these industries is required. In response InnoVenton, at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (Port Elizabeth), offers several short courses.

In-house / Tailor-made

InnoVenton strives to provide purpose designed training in the areas of technology and skills training. Courses may be devised for individuals or groups and invariably consist of both a theoretical and a practical component. Short courses, tailor-made for companies to satisfy their individual training needs, could also be presented in-house.

Certificates

On successful completion of a short course, an official NMMU certificate is awarded to delegates when a pass mark of 50% or higher is achieved. Attendance certificates will be awarded upon request.

Academic Regulations

Academic Regulations apply to all credit bearing courses that run as short courses.

Course Fee and Payment

The course fee includes course material and light refreshments.

Discount:

  • A 5% discount is offered when 3 to 5 persons from one company attend;
  • A 7.5% discount is offered when 6 to 9 persons from one company attend;
  • A 10% discount is offered when 10 or more persons from one company attend.

A company Purchase Order number and VAT Registration Number are required with registration.

Short course fees need to be paid in full at least two weeks before the commencement of the course.

When making payment, please include the following information:

  • 3142-4120,
  • delegate’s name, and
  • course name.

Please send proof of payment, including your name and the course name, to NMMU for the attention of Margriet Bosma.

Cancellations / Refunds

Course fees are not refundable unless cancellation has been made at least 14 days prior to course commencement; a 30% administration fee is levied for cancellations. Unfortunately no reimbursements are possible for late cancellations but a substitute delegate is welcome.

NB: NMMU reserves the right to cancel or postpone short courses should we not have the required minimum number of enrolments for a specific course. If the course is fully booked or cancelled by the NMMU, a full refund of fees will be made.

Course Logistics

Course logistics will be sent by e-mail to course participants at least one week before commencement of the course.
